“Taka did an amazing job of sharing his love for his home with us. We enjoyed learning more about the area than we’d have figured out on our own. Although transportation is not included we let Taka know that we had IC cards so we were able to take the train to Osaka Castle. We especially appreciated that he waited until later in the tour to visit so we could see the castle both in the sunlight and after dark! We highly recommend this tour with Taka.”

Osaka Local Foodie Walking Tour in Dotonbori and Shinsekai

2.Osaka Local Foodie Walking Tour in Dotonbori and Shinsekai

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 985 reviews · from $111Top rated

Review of Osaka’s 3-hour food walk through Shinsekai and Dotonbori, with kushikatsu, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, drinks, and local culture.

“We’ve done foodie tours in other countries & found this one underwhelming. We visited 2 places with the option for a 3rd (happy to pass as it was squid balls). I would much prefer sampling smaller portions at multiple locations. The place we attended 2nd was a full meal of one food type, it would be much better to give samples/smaller portions. Also the first place includes 2 x drinks but nobody drank 2 from our group of 6, they should reduce the price to allow 1 drink at this venue? If people want more drinks then they could pay. We did however enjoy walking around Shinsekai & Dotonbori with…”

“Amazing… i cant believe how hard Knox works… he must have been exhausted by the end… he is a natural raconteur and an intelligent one too - he really brought the backstreets of a Osaka to life… as a solo traveller i would never have been able to find these places. A great way to see the real Osaka”

“Great tour by Scott. He’s a NA immigrant to Japan, so speaks perfect english. He was also able to give us the real ‘down low’ on Japanese culture and society other Japanese guides couldn’t/wouldnt.”
